A man in a dark coat walks down a sloping cobbled square that has been cleared of snow, and haze reduces the sun to a pale disc above a corner building with a four-sided tower. That building is the Tišnov town hall, built in 1905–1906 to a design by the Brno architect Vladimír Fischer, replacing a stone town hall of 1771. Its facade carries sgraffito scenes from the town's history by the painter Jano Köhler, and it has been a protected cultural monument since 1964.
