Colonnades On The Spree, Museum Island
BERLIN, GERMANY · 02 Sep 2026 · TWELVE SECONDS
The Spree moves in low ripples between Museum Island on the left, where a stone colonnade runs at water level below a large classical building, and a tree-lined embankment on the right where people sit. An arched bridge crosses downriver. The first colonnades here were built between 1853 and 1860 to a design by Friedrich August Stüler, along the east and south sides of the Neues Museum. Museum Island was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.
The archive does not edit, trim, or re-frame what it receives. The recording is the camera's own output; the archive's only interventions are cataloguing it and preparing a copy that will play.
