Tram Crossing Warschauer Brücke, Friedrichshain
BERLIN, GERMANY · 23 Sep 2026 · TWELVE SECONDS
People walk along the graffiti-covered railing of a road bridge while a yellow BVG tram crosses behind them; railway tracks run in the cutting below. The Warschauer Brücke was completed in 1875 to carry Warschauer Straße over the Ostbahn and Niederschlesisch-Märkische railway tracks. A newly rebuilt section collapsed after a bomb hit in 1945, and the bridge was reopened to traffic in 1948. It was repaired and strengthened between 1994 and 1997 with European Regional Development Fund support.
The archive does not edit, trim, or re-frame what it receives. The recording is the camera's own output; the archive's only interventions are cataloguing it and preparing a copy that will play.
