Tarifa Lighthouse From The Causeway

TARIFA, SPAIN · 11 Jan 2023 · TWELVE SECONDS
A paved causeway with a metal pipe railing runs toward a low rocky island, where a white cylindrical lighthouse and several small buildings stand on a cliff above the water. The tower was raised on the site of a watchtower ordered by Felipe II in 1588 and was first lit in 1813. The island, Isla de las Palomas, has been joined to the mainland by this causeway since 1808, and marks the southernmost point of continental Europe.
The archive does not edit, trim, or re-frame what it receives. The recording is the camera's own output; the archive's only interventions are cataloguing it and preparing a copy that will play.
