Stewardship
Who reviews a submission, and what a steward’s decision actually means.

What a steward does
A steward reviews each witness submission against the Accession Standards and decides to accession it or return it, citing the specific standard and their reasoning either way. A steward also reviews suggested coordinate corrections and appeals of a return.

A curated archive, not an open upload
The archive does not accept unreviewed public uploads, and the website has no upload path at all—recording happens in the app, by an enrolled witness, and every submission is reviewed before it becomes part of the public record. This keeps the archive’s documentary standards and consistent format intact as it grows.

Accountability
Every decision a steward makes—accession, return, or a resolved appeal—carries their name and the date. None of these decisions are anonymous.
